dugong page

Dugongs live in the tropical Indian and Western Pacific Oceans.

Estimates range from 50,000 to over 100,000 animals. In many areas they face extinction. The Dugong is considered as 'Flagship Species'  for the Indo-Pacific seagrass beds.
